This wedding was celebrated in 2008 in the small village of Zoodkhon.
It is in Chapursan Valley, located in the extreme north of Pakistan close to the Afghanistan corridor and Chinese border.
The newlywed are two members of the Central Asia Institute – a humanitarian Organization created by Greg Mortenson, also an author of the famous book: ” Three cups of tea”.
For almost 20 years Mortenson’s organization has been promotin education and literacy in rural areas like Zoodkhon … This traditional wedding and the whole ceremony were a gesture of a simple “thank you” to the two organization members for their work and efforts in this project.
