Welcome to Laos
Laos is a country of wonderful people living on the rivers.
One third of the country’s population lives below the international poverty line, which is less than US $1.25 per day.
Laos is a multi-ethnic country.
The Lao people, politically and culturally dominant, make up approximately 60% of the population, living mostly in the lowlands.
40% of the population is composed of various Mon-Khmer groups, the Hmong and other indigenous hill tribes living in the foothills and mountains.
I don’t know why but I really enjoy traveling in this country and meeting people full of enthusiasm and vitality.
