From Manaus, the capital of Amazonas State of Brazil, there are almost 800 km to reach the Aracà Tepui, a 1000 m quartzite sandstone table mountain, close to the Venezuelan border.
The dark waters of Rio Negro and Rio Aracà make the journey a incredible fly inside the flooted forest: the water is a mirror and the huge sky is up and down the horizon line! Just a natural magic scenography! After 3 days the rivers become smaller, we need tinniest boats to reach the base of the mountain … Caving and geographical exploration where our target but this is an different story .. for the next post!
